Scientist-SF, Space Applications Centre, ISRO, Ahmedabad.
Dr.Neerja Sharma obtained her Ph.D in Ionospheric Physics from National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi in 2008. She is having 12 years of experience in the field of satellite meteorology in ISRO.
Dr. Sharma is currently a Scientist in Geophysical parameter retrieval division of Space Applications Centre, ISRO Ahmedabad. Her major contributions are in the development of retrieval algorithm of various geophysical parameters for current and future satellite missions of ISRO. Presently she is involved in development of rainfall retrieval algorithms and its correction procedures for current missions such as, INSAT-3D/3DR, OCEANSAT-3 and RISAT-1A. She is also involved in developing rainfall validation software under MMDRPS. Further, she is potentially involved in the sensor definition studies for future sensors on rainfall and sea surface salinity.
Dr.Neerja has more than 30 paper published in peer-reviewed international journals and guided one Ph.D and six BTech and M.Tech students.
