Dr. Parthasarathi Mukhopadhyay Scientist F, IITM, Pune did his Masters from Calcutta University and PhD from Savitribai Phule Pune University. He has more than 27 years of experience in the field of Atmospheric Sciences. He has done research in the field of Numerical Weather Prediction, development of Cloud and convection parameterization, Dynamical core development etc. in General circulation model and Mesoscale model. He has published 78 peer reviewed papers in National and International journals. He has received Ministry of Earth Sciences’ Certificate of Merit in 2015 for outstanding contribution in the field of Atmospheric Sciences. He has received the Golden Jubilee Award of IITM for significant contribution in the field in 2020. He has guided/mentored many students for Masters (14 students) and PhD (6 awarded, 7 ongoing) degree. He is a Member of International Asian Australian GEWEX Monsoon Panel (CLIVAR) and an associate editor of Journal of Earth System Science (JESS), published by Indian Academy of Science, Bengaluru.
