Prof. Prasad K. Bhaskaran is a Professor and former Head of Department, Ocean Engineering & Naval Architecture at IIT Kharagpur. Primary research interest of Prof. Prasad K Bhaskaran is on Ocean Wave Modelling having practical relevance in Ocean Engineering problems, coupled wave-hydrodynamic models, coastal engineering, operational oceanography, tropical cyclones, wind-wave climate studies and topical areas on air-sea interaction for the Indian Ocean region. He was a lead member in the development of tsunami travel time atlas for the Indian Ocean. He is a recipient of James Rennell MoES Young Fellow, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India. To his credit, Prof. Bhaskaran has a total of 243 publications that includes 132 peer-reviewed National/International Journal papers; 99 papers in refereed National/International Conferences/Symposiums/Workshops; 08 Book/Book chapters; and 04 Patents/Copyrights. He is a Fellow of the Ocean Society of India.
