Dr. Riko Oki is an Associate Principal Researcher and the Deputy Director of the Earth Observation Research Center in Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). She received the Dr.Sci. degree in geophysics from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan in 1995. She joined the Remote Sensing Technology Center of Japan, Tokyo, in 1995. Since 1998, she has been with the National Space Development Agency of Japan (currently called the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency). She has been engaged in research in Meteorology and Climatology. She was awarded Prizes for Science and Technology, the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2016 and 2020.
