Prof. S. Ramachandran is a Senior Professor in Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad. His area of research includes characterization of aerosols as well as modeling their impacts on radiation budget, and climate. He is a lead author of the 2007 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. He is an author on the WMO Scientific Assessment of Ozone Depletion. He has published more than 100 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals. He is an Associate Editor in Frontiers in Environmental Science. He is an Affiliate Scholar of the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies, Potsdam, Germany. He is among the top 2% scientists in the world as per the list published by Stanford University. He recently authored a textbook entitled Atmospheric Aerosols: Characteristics and Radiative Effects, CRC Press, Taylor and Francis Group, USA.
