Higuchi Atsushi

Center for Environmental Remote Sensing (CEReS), Chiba University, Japan

HIGUCHI, Atsushi received Ph.D. (Sci.) in University of Tsukuba, Japan
in 1999. he worked in the Center for Environmental Remote Sensing
(CEReS), Chiba University, as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 1999. He worked
as a permanent Research Associate in IHAS and HyARC (now ISEE), Nagoya
University, from 2000 to 2005. Since 2005, he got back to CEReS as a
permanent Associate Professor untill now.
His interests (majors) are hydrology and satellite climatology.
Particularly he is interested in the role of “water” in the Earth system via
analysis of Earth observed satellite datasets. As a faculty staff’s
professional works in CEReS, he has been responsible for satellite data
archiving for the science community and societies as one of DAACs (Data
Active Archiving Centers).
